Get Ready for School

Children beginning Kindergarten in 2027 are invited to join us for some fun and targeted goal driven therapy in a small group session across an intensive 2 day program. This program focuses on strengthening development in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory regulation, gross motor coordination, self care independence, and early learning foundations such as letter and number recognition. Children will develop the ability to attend and follow instructions, remain seated at a table in a way that works for them, join in group activities and attend to their peers.

 

This group aims to develop your child’s ability to:

• demonstrate a functional pencil grasp using a dominant hand-
• demonstrate appropriate pencil control when tracing, drawing and colouring
• recognise and write letters from their name
• draw shapes and simple pictures
• recognise and group numbers
• cut shapes using correct scissor grasp
• follow a classroom routine
• complete self care tasks such as opening packets, donning and doffing their jackets, zippers, buttons etc.
  advocate for their needs to enable their learning

Spy Time

Bring out your hidden spy! School children are invited to attend our 2 half day spy workshops during the school holidays to develop their writing and other school related skills with other children their age. The workshop is spy themed with all children adopting a spy character including props and fun activities. The workshop is fun, interactive and educational! Each group addresses:

• Pencil grasp and control
• Letter formation
• Legibility
• Following instructions
• Written expression

Lego Club

This workshop will promote social interaction, turn-taking skills, sharing and collaborative problem solving to support social engagement. Club members can focus on the joint creative process in a fun and supported environment.

This group is offered to children who are Primary School aged.
