Functional Capacity Assessments
Qualia offers Functional Capacity Assessments to support children’s access to the NDIS.
A Functional Capacity Assessment and report differs from an occupational therapy, speech pathology or psychology assessment report. The assessment will focus on
- your child’s overarching participation in life at home, in the community and school and complete activities during the day
- your child’s overarching skills and how they use them (communication, cognitive, motor and mobility, self-regulation, social interaction, play, self-care, and self-management)
- your child’s environment supports
- your parent wellbeing
- recommendations for future support

A Functional Capacity Assessment includes:
- parent (and, where possible, child) Interview
- online parent (and, where possible, child) assessments (support from your occupational therapist
- in-person assessments
- collaboration with your child’s current health professions (via reports and other correspondence if required)
